Job Description: Wave Collective is looking to add driven, creative and quick-thinking interns to our social media, creative and PR and Influencer teams.

With a fresh, savvy approach to modern media and social media channels, we create strategies for brands and talent to connect to their target consumers. Wave specializes in public relations, social media marketing, content creation, event marketing, and influencer relations.

Social Media Intern Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Managing and updating content calendars for multiple brands on different social media platforms
  • Designing brand assets for posting (IG stories, graphics, etc.)
  • Assisting with social media performance reports
  • Assisting with social strategy decks for clients
  • Assisting with administrative assignments (holiday calendars, client tracking, etc.)
  • Assist and participate with brainstorming and client shot list creation
  • Assist with photo/video content shoots (on-site at social client location)
  • Avid social media user – up on the latest trends for each social platform (IG, TikTok, FB, etc.)

Content/Creative Intern Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Actively participate in brainstorms, including creative trend research
  • Assist with photo/video content shoots (in-studio and on-site at client location)
  • Assist with capturing and creating captivating Reels and TikToks, as needed 
  • Support the development of UGC-style content
  • Work cooperatively with Creative & Social Media teams
  • Update and help maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video

PR (Media Relations) Intern Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Assist in brainstorming creative pitch angles & drafting corresponding pitches
  • Begin press release & media advisory drafts
  • Updating and maintaining media lists
  • Scanning for client media coverage
  • Assisting with media coverage reports
  • Uploading events to online calendar listing websites
  • Conducting client & competitor research
  • Proactive consumer of both traditional media outlets (ie. Boston Globe, NY Times, Food & Wine magazine), social media accounts (including influencers & content creators), and podcasts to stay up to date on current trending topics & events locally, nationally, and abroad

Influencer Marketing Intern Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Assist with all aspects of our influencer marketing services and ongoing client campaigns
  • Maintain and help grow internal influencer database
  • Assist with campaign reporting and analysis
  • Creative social media user who is up to date on current industry trends/topics
  • Avid consumer of influencers/content creators on multiple platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Youtube and beyond

Our Ideal Interns are:

  • Passionate about public relations, influencer marketing, social media, or content creation, with a genuine desire to learn more
  • Available a minimum of 15 hours per week (school credit available) and are able to be in-person 1- 2 days/week in our South Boston office, client photoshoot, or client event
  • Pursuing a degree and/or interest in communication, public relations, journalism, marketing, English, graphic design, art, or related discipline
  • Creatively driven and organized
  • Detail oriented, proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a basic knowledge of Google Drive

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Influencer Relations Specialist to join Wave’s comprehensive Influencer Marketing department. As an Influencer Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing influencer marketing strategies for our clients, managing influencer relationships, and ensuring the successful implementation of campaigns for both paid and in-trade partnerships. Additionally, you will lead in the curation and execution of influencer events and brand mailers. Working closely with the PR Manager (and Social Media team for select clients), this role requires a strong understanding of the digital landscape, influencer trends, and social media platforms. This position reports directly to Wave’s head of PR & Influencer Marketing. This is a hybrid in-office position; a minimum of two days required to work out of our South Boston office (additional in-person days are dependent on client events and needs).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Campaign Strategy & Execution:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their brand goals and objectives.
  • Develop creative influencer marketing strategies that align with client goals.
  • Identify the right influencers for client campaigns based on audience demographics, engagement rates, and brand fit.
  • Oversee the full campaign lifecycle, from strategy development, project management and post-campaign reporting and analysis.
  • Develop campaign materials (briefs, talking points, etc.) specific to client’s brand messaging, concept/content focus and timeline.
  • As needed to support client strategy, ideate and execute curated influencer events and creative brand mailers.

Influencer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with influencers, agencies, and content creators across various platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Negotiate contracts, deliverables, and compensation with influencers for both paid and in-trade partnerships.
  • Coordinate on-site visit details between influencer and client. Ensure all parties are aligned on reservation details and ordering parameters.
  • Ensure influencers adhere to campaign guidelines and brand standards.

Campaign Monitoring & Optimization:

  • Track and analyze campaign performance, providing insights on metrics like engagement and reach.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the campaign / on-site visits.
  • Adjust campaign strategies as needed to optimize performance.

Influencer Marketing Intern Responsibilities & Requirements:

Client Communication & Reporting:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding influencer marketing campaigns.
  • Capture and send content to client in real time (no later than by next business day). 
  • Present final reports (Monthly, quarterly, or project based) and analysis.

Market Research & Trend Analysis:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in social media, influencer marketing, and digital marketing.
  • Conduct research to identify new influencers and emerging platforms that align with client goals.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the PR team to ensure integrated and seamless campaign execution and overall client support. For select clients, work closely with the social media team to complement organic content being created for the accounts.
  • Provide support to interns and assist with their professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in influencer marketing, social media marketing, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing influencer campaigns from inception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, influencer metrics, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in tracking and interpreting key performance metrics.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate fresh ideas for influencer campaigns, events and mailers.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
  • Passionate about social media, content creation, and influencer trends.
  • Boston-based
  • Open to local travel, including some evenings and weekends as needed for event execution and capturing social media content for Wave social media channels
